Debut in the Blancpain Endurance Series
BMW Sports Trophy Team Schubert makes its debut in the Blancpain Endurance Series this weekend. The team from Oschersleben (DE) lines up with a BMW Z4 GT3 at the 4-hour race in Silverstone (GB). Dominik Baumann (AT), Claudia Hürtgen (DE) and Maximilian Sandritter (DE) will alternate at the wheel of the number 120 car. The trio starts in the PRO-CUP class, in which it will take on some of the top GT teams in the world.
BMW Sports Trophy Team Schubert made a number of successful guest appearances in the Blancpain Sprint Series last season, including victory for Baumann at the Slovakia Ring (SK) alongside Thomas Jäger (AT). However, the team has yet to start a long-distance race in the Blancpain Endurance Series. The race in Silverstone gets underway at 14:45 CET on Whit Sunday.
Timo Frings (Team Manager): “It is good to get back out on the track so soon after what was, for us, a disappointing weekend at the Nürburgring 24 Hours. The outing in the Blancpain Endurance Series has been planned for a long time, but it now gives us a very good opportunity to turn our minds to something else. We are delighted to welcome Max Sandritter back to the team, alongside our two regular drivers Dominik Baumann and Claudia Hürtgen. Unfortunately clashes in the schedules meant it was not possible to contest another ADAC GT Masters season together. However, it is important for us to continue to work with him, in order to stay in touch with each other. The start in the Blancpain Endurance Series will definitely be an exciting new experience for us.”
