Schubert Motorsport score points in ADAC GT Masters finale

Schubert Motorsport’s home round in the 2020 ADAC GT Masters was again characterised by two races with highs and lows. The Super Sports Car League met in the familiar setting of Oschersleben at the weekend to contest the final confrontation of the year. The only BMW M6 GT3s in the field of 30 super sports cars faced a major challenge again because of the Balance of Performance. However, Nick Yelloly and Henric Skoog secured a P12 finish on Sunday against all the odds and thus brought the season to a satisfactory conclusion.

Schubert Motorsport in the Top Ten in appalling Lausitzring weather

Schubert Motorsport had a testing time in many ways during this penultimate weekend of the 2020 ADAC GT Masters. The Oschersleben-based outfit were without the services of Red Bull Ring race winner Nick Yelloly as they competed for a second time this season at the Lausitzring. The BMW works driver was unable to take part due to illness and was replaced by fellow BMW driver Sheldon van der Linde. This five-star replacement from the DTM proved his worth as a substitute for Yelloly. He did extremely well behind the wheel of the BMW M6 GT3 in the toughest of conditions and along with Henric Skoog, achieved another top-ten finish in the field of 30 GT3 cars.

Schubert Motorsport success in seizing great opportunity

Deliverance for Schubert Motorsport during fifth race weekend of the 2020 ADAC GT Masters at the Red Bull Ring – with a win and fastest race lap on Saturday, Henric Skoog and Nick Yelloly produced the first big highlight of the year for the Oschersleben-based outfit now in its first season back in the ADAC GT Masters. The duo seized their chances and really excelled at a circuit well-suited to the driving characteristics of the BMW M6 GT3, giving the Bavarian car its first major triumph of the year in the ADAC GT Masters.

Schubert Motorsport achieve notable success in 2020 ADAC GT Masters:

The Sachsenring roller-coaster really lived up to its reputation once again at the weekend, but during the fourth race meeting of the ADAC GT Masters season, Schubert Motorsport finally secured their first, much-anticipated finish in the Top Ten since rejoining the series – and they did it in style. Henric Skoog and BMW works driver Jesse Krohn made an extraordinary charge up through the field of 32 GT3 cars on the famous 3.67-km race track in the east of Germany on Sunday. The two drivers gained no less than 24 places on their way to a P7-finish after starting last.

Schubert Motorsport with best weekend so far in 2020 ADAC GT Masters

After two tough weekends, Schubert Motorsport’s comeback season in the ADAC GT Masters finally picked up speed at the Hockenheimring. The Oschersleben-based outfit had their strongest weekend so far at the 4.57-km grand prix circuit in south-west Germany since returning to the Super Sports Car League. In two extremely competitive races, both BMW M6 GT3s took points in the field of 33 GT3 cars and had the courage to take risks.

Schubert Motorsport’s hard work in ADAC GT Masters at Nürburgring goes unrewarded

Schubert Motorsport had expected their trip to the Eifel to turn out quite differently. Despite all their hard work, the second race weekend of their first season back in the ADAC GT Masters did not bring the success they desired. The outfit from Oschersleben faced a major challenge with their BMW M6 GT3 right from the start at the Nürburgring due to the way the car’s balance of performance. The last time the super sports car from Munich finished on the podium at the Nürburgring was in 2017. In the circumstances, the steep rise in form experienced at the Lausitzring did not continue as expected.

Steep learning curve in ADAC GT Masters comeback

Following intensive preparations during the month of July, Schubert Motorsport returned to the ADAC GT Masters last weekend after a one-year absence from the series. The Oschersleben-based outfit was fielding two BMW M6 GT3s in the season opener hosted at the Lausitzring. Lining up on the grid for the first test of strength of 2020 were 33 GT3 cars sporting the badges of no fewer than seven manufacturers. The return to action in the Super Sports Car League turned out to be more difficult than Team Schubert had been expecting. On Sunday the crew and drivers were able to demonstrate the potential of their package after putting in a long night shift, but in a turbulent race, their hard work went unrewarded.

Schubert Motorsport ready for the challenge ahead

It’s been a long time coming, but it will be all the more satisfying for that – Schubert Motorsport are about to return to the ADAC GT Masters. Their comeback in the Super Sports Car League after a one-year absence has, of course, been delayed by the global lockdown that began in spring. Next weekend, the two BMW M6 GT3 cars prepared by the Saxony-Anhalt-based outfit will be in action for the first time at the Lausitzring.

Schubert Motorsport returning to ADAC GT Masters this year with two BWM M6 GT3s

All good things come in threes – as amply demonstrated by Schubert Motorsport, BMW and the ADAC GT Masters. After taking a one-year break, these firm fan favourites from Oschersleben near Berlin will be back in the Super Sports Car League this season with two BMW M6 GT3s.
